1. Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, 

For He hath visited and re  deemed His people, 

And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us 

In the house of His ser  vant David.

2. As He spake by the mouth of His ho  ly ones, 

His prophets from the beginning, 

That we should be saved from our enemies 

And from the hand of   all that hate us,

3. To be merciful to our fathers 

And to remember His ho  ly covenant, 

The oath which He sware to our fa  ther Abraham,

That He would   grant unto us,

4. That we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, 

Might serve Him with  out fear, 

In holiness and in justice,

Before Him through   all our days.
